Yesterday I spent visiting sites with President Clinton in an effort to deliver much needed supplies to areas in light of the recent devastation of Hurricanes Maria and Irma across the island.
1&2- President Clinton visits people in the makeshift shelter in a school gymnasium in Canovanas
3- Supplies brought down are delivered in Canovanas- Governor Rossello and Mayor Soto along with @directrelief are there
4- Water from a drinking fountain isn't safe
5- President Clinton talks about medication supplies and distribution with staff members at Concilio de Salud Integral de Loiza
6- President Clinton greets patrons at the Plaza del Mercado de Rio Piedras
7- #FUERZA🇵🇷 - but notice the traffic lights are destroyed, so it's near impossible for traffic to work
8- President Clinton overlooks the neighborhood in HealthproMed in San Juan- they have only been open because they have always had a diesel generator out back
9- Hello to the little ones at HealthproMed in SJ
10- President Clinton met with Resident Commissioner Gonzalez-Colón and mayors from around the country's affected areas about how to better increase aid
As you fly into Puerto Rico, you can see the difference @SamaritansPurse is making by the blue tarps for homes we have provided in the aftermath of #HurricaneIrma. We’re continuing to deliver water filters, food, hygiene kits, generators, solar lights, tarps and more to help. These shots were taken yesterday as we delivered a load.
Huge thanks for the folks at this weekends amazingly successful Turn the Tide BVI/USVI fundraising event for letting us set up shop to sell our #bvistrong tees for @767visar this weekend. Also, huge thanks and shout out to my sailing/writing sister and partner in crime Tasha from @turftosurf for flying out to help (and have fun with) me... she is the yin to my yang and it was so fun selling shirts, meeting new friends and getting into trouble in the city with her! If you want to sport some BVI strong gear, head to www.remembertheadventure.com/BVI strong - all proceeds go to VISAR!
Today at 4:59pm the world lost the most perfect beautiful angel but heaven gained one.
Link/Leo was just one day over 2 months old. Although his life was short, he was loved by many. He had not one, but two families, one of the most well loved little boys for sure.
Leo was suffering from a condition called hydrocephalus. He had been under treatment since he was about 2 1/2 weeks old. He was supposed to go to SHAHS in New Jersey as soon as he was big enough to fly. Sadly, last week Leo suffered from a spike in his ICP and a brain bleed. Neurologists and specialists have been working to save his life but unfortunately after this last crisis his body just couldn't come back. He had become blind from a seizure, lost control of his bowels, vomited up anything he was given, and couldn't stand. The decision was made to let little Leo go. He passed away in my arms purring, knowing he was loved.
Little Leo, I am so sorry I couldn't save you and failed to protect you. I will never forget you. Fly high sweet angel💙#link#restinpeace#flyfree#foxfosterkittens#fosterkitten#rescue ##hurricaneirma#Siamesekittens#hydrocephalus#prayers#rip#leothelion🦁
