🖥 About the code 🖥
I created this project for an Advanced Topics in Operating Systems course. The objective was to read Jeff Bonwick’s research paper on the Slab Allocator and to implement the API described in the paper. The slab allocator is a virtual memory manager for efficient allocation and deallocation of kernel objects. The idea is, rather than construct memory on a per-object basis, the slab allocator reserves a chunk of memory in a space-efficient multiple of the system page size (called the “slab”), which reduces both internal fragmentation and the number of calls to the virtual memory system. A cache is used to store slabs for objects of a particular size. The cache maintains the buffer free list and reference count. The frontend API requests a constructed buffer from the cache. If the free list is not null, the cache returns a pointer to a constructed buffer. Otherwise, the cache calls the backend API to retrieve a new slab from the virtual memory system.
By managing memory in this way, object construction and destruction in the front end are reduced to constant time operations.

I know I’m a little early but... I want 🦃.now(). About to add the gravy 🤤

Women in Science Without Borders (WiSWB)-Indaba (conference) in South Africa 2018
1. 🇿🇦 Global threats and global opportunities regard no borders
If your research is addressing a scientific challenge seeking innovative sustainable solutions to problems that pervade borders, either natural or artificial, this Indaba will provide you with a platform to present it
2. 🇿🇦 A common focus cutting across this Indaba will be on the role women play in influencing positive outcomes within the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) ecosystem as, thought leaders and mentors, researchers, educators and policy makers
3. 🇿🇦 Priority will be given to delegates from Africa and other developing countries with emphasis on supporting early to mid-career female researchers
4. 🇿🇦 The conference will span 3-days that will include high-level plenary speakers, panel discussions on challenges in STEM research such as the gender gap, funding, work-life balance, along with technical presentation sessions
5. 🇿🇦 We are looking forward to welcoming you to sunny South Africa
6. 🇿🇦 Prof. Sonali Das (Chair of WiSWB-Indaba 2018), CSIR, Pretoria, South Africa
Registration: 15 January 2018

Most people are against animal cruelty and most people are compassionate people but what most people struggle with is an unconscious 'fear' of change, they may not be aware of it consciously but it's pretty conspicuous with what response you get, either very rude and disrespectful or they laugh at the information that is presented to them even though it's just an aspect within themselves they have not yet met. I don't blame the individual solely as they have been exposed to misinformation, lies and deceitful advice over the years that benefits not them but a very small percentage of others financially. We've all been victims to this social conditioning, unfortunately the government try and keep you on a low level of consciousness because they don't want a world full of free thinkers and innovators because it's a threat to the very controlled society that we live in today. They want us trapped in a rat race, that is why the media, news etc.. is always broadcasting horrific and fearful stories so that gets driven into our minds and now our society has been built upon a foundation of fear, they want us scared and feel like we're just little joe public so we believe and accept everything they say without question, as they want us to put all our faith into them so we believe they have all the power but all that is, is merely an illusion, collectively, we the people have far more power than they do but it all starts with believing that we do! They have been shaping our minds so we think and act in certain ways. That is why people respond in such ways to new information that may not have been prevalent to them over the years. We have to be careful of what we're exposing ourselves to, as our minds are absorbing everything, weather that be consciously or unconsciously, they're both part of the psyche which are connected but have their own separate system to how they work, that is why reading, meditating and eating clean are so important. Our world is dying before our eyes and we have to be the change. I know you don't agree with killing innocent individuals, align your actions with your core beliefs. Veganism is a fundamental to evolving into a superlative world. ✌🏽
I'm geeking out!! I don't often treat myself but when I do I make sure it's something special. Upgraded to a Pixel 2 and so excited to see what this thing can do! I will keep you guys posted on what I think 😉. First impression? This thing is sick!
