How to use these fonts on Instagram

Instagram has no font setting. These Instagram fonts are special Unicode characters that look like bold, italic or script letters. You copy them as plain text and paste them where Instagram accepts text.

  1. Type your name or bio in the box at the top of this page. Every style updates as you type.
  2. Press Copy on the style you like. Press Preview first if you want to see it on the profile card.
  3. Open Instagram, choose Edit profile, and paste it into your name or bio. You can paste it into a caption or a comment in the same way.

The counters under the box check your text against 30 for a name and 150 for a bio, for the style you preview. The bio count matches Instagram’s own counter on instagram.com. The name count is our estimate; Instagram’s own limit may differ.

Why some styles show as boxes

A box, or a square with a cross inside, means the phone has no glyph for that Unicode character. Each phone and each app ships its own set of symbols. A style that looks fine on one phone can break on another, and older phones often miss more symbols.

The preview on this page uses the fonts on your own device. If a style shows as boxes here, people with a similar phone may see boxes too. Test your favourite style on your phone before you change your profile. If it breaks, pick another style.

Fonts and accessibility

Screen readers may read styled letters one by one, or read each one by its symbol name, such as “mathematical bold capital A”. That can make a styled name or bio hard to follow for people who use a screen reader.

  • Keep your username and your key words in plain text.
  • Use styles for decoration, not for the words people need to understand.
  • Use a short styled phrase rather than a whole bio.

Styled text can also be harder to find in search, because the letters are different characters from the plain ones.

Is this safe?

You do not log in, and we never ask for your Instagram password. If any site asks for it to style your text, leave that site. This tool runs in your browser, and the text you type stays on your device. We do not send it to our server.

Favourites are saved only in your own browser, and only if your browser allows it. Clear your browser data and they are gone.

FAQ

What are stylish fonts for Instagram?

They are text styles built from Unicode characters, such as mathematical bold or script letters. They look like new fonts, but they are ordinary characters that you can copy and paste.

Do I need to install anything or log in?

No. Open the page, type your text and copy the style you want. There is no app, no account and no password.

Why do my Instagram fonts look different on another phone?

Every phone draws characters with its own fonts. If a phone has no symbol for a character, it shows a box instead. Check the style on the phone you care about most.

How long can my Instagram name and bio be?

The counters show 30 for a name and 150 for a bio, for the style you preview. The bio count matches Instagram’s own counter on instagram.com; the name count is our estimate. If a counter says you are over, shorten the text or pick another style.

Why does my Hindi text not change?

The styles work on English letters and numbers. Hindi and other scripts pass through unchanged, and the tool shows a note when it sees Devanagari text.
